| Why I have removed NotMilk from my Links |
| I believe a vegetarian and/or vegan diet is the best for many reasons. I actively promote the reduction or abstinence from dairy products in addition to my encouragement to adopt a non-meat diet. I was pleased when I came across the NotMilk website, as it seemed to have the same goals and provided a lot of information. I provided a link to them on my webpage and subscribed to their newsletter. Then I started receiving strange, rambling writings about subjects that had nothing to do with milk, for example; environmentalism, feminism and prochoice opinions, none of them positive. When I wrote for clarification I started getting aggressive emails, which did not explain. I wrote that I would be removing the link and then got ranting emails about how I was depriving them of free-speech. I explained I had a right to only include information on my website that I wanted to provide, to no avail. I got more rambling newsletters, which I responded to again, asking what the subjects had to do with discouraging milk consumption, and asked again if there was some unwritten agenda behind the NotMilk website. I then received a reply that they were going to do as instructed by the Revered Sun Hyung Moon. Rev. Moon is also known as the leader of the 'Moonies", what most people consider as a dangerous cult with business ties to all kinds of nefarious politics. I do not know if the email was serious, but they do sound mentally disturbed, and as I endorse no religious affiliation, and certainly do not want to provide links to what I think are unbalanced individuals, however much non-discredited information they have on their website, I have removed the link, and have since found that many other websites already have. There is a lot of valid information out there supporting the elimination of milk from the diet, and I hope this does not discourage anyone. If I find a better site soon, I will link to it.
