| Make your own meals. Go over the menu and ask for the vegetable side listed with the steak, or the baked potato with the grilled onions and peppers and mushrooms from the steak sandwich. Or, the ruben minus the meat plus the grilled veggies. Unless their food is pre-made, you can usually pick and choose ingredients unless the server/cook is in a bad mood. |
| The best veggie gravy? Made with french onion soup and flour. I make my own soup, then freeze the leftovers for gravy. |
| Scone mixes are often vegan. Mix with poultry herb seasoning and drop into soup for dumplings, roll thin and top leftover soup or veggies in a casserole for pot-pie or wrap around tofu-pups (veggie hotdogs) and bake for pigs-in-a blanket. |
| For a thick breading that sticks, first dip tofu or veggies in a mixture of tahini, (or barley malt) flour and soymilk. Then roll in matzo-meal or breadcrumbs. Works great for chile rellenos. |
